Leah Abshire-Blevins, 66, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away November 3, 2021, after an illness. She was born in Groves, Texas on August 1 ,1955, to Joseph Warren Abshire and Kathleen Abshire.
Leah grew up in Morgan City, Louisiana. Her favorite things in life were being with her family, enjoying good music and good food. She was an amazing cook. She loved Christmas and making decorations. Our home was warm and full of love. She loved gardening and taking care of her yard, making crafts, and most of all raising her three daughters.
She did the very best she could to make the impossible things possible.
Our home was always open to many of her daughter’s friends, as well as whoever needed help. She was always willing to help those in need. She took care of girls at the local regional Girls Shelter for 13 years before becoming disabled.
She met Joseph Blevins when they were both 60 years old and he loved her like she never knew existed. They got married at age 62 in Springfield, Missouri, and Joseph took care of her until the day she passed away.
She loved her grandchildren and was always ready to help them.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Kathleen, her sister, Lynn Abshire, and her great-grandson, Maverick Ingram.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Blevins; three daughters: Heather Wood, Roslyn Owens (Roci), and Hannah Kendrick; her step-children: Charles Blevins and Ivy Hughes; her grandchildren: Alex Evans, Dylan Ingram, Sebrina Ingram, Harly Boyd, Kayden Draper, Kaleeh Draper, Keanrel Draper, Delilah Hughes, Quinten Hughes, Michael Hughes, Tori Blevins, Laura Ann Blevins, and Zachary Perry; her great-grandchildren: Clemintine, Aubry, Liam, Xander, Zamori (Bean), and Serene; her brothers: Damon Abshire and Scott David Abshire; as well as her nieces and nephews: Tinny and JoJo, Jessica Abshire, and Haley Abshire.
