Penny and Peggy, We were neighbors of yours on Fruitwood. My heart was saddened when I saw your mothers obit. What a lovely picture! You have her with you in the many writings she left for you. I hope you girls know that God loves you and is aware that your hearts are broken as His was when He allowed His Son to die on the cross for our sins. With Christian love & prayers, Karen
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the passing of your Mom. You girls are awesome daughters and my prayers will continue for you both, your families, and your beautiful Grandma that you will be blessed with much peace in knowing your Mom is now at peace. I can't tell you how grateful I and my sisters are for being able to spend that precious time with all of you on January 2. Thank you for sharing that with us. God bless and keep you in His loving arms. Please keep in touch with us. You are so loved by all of us. I doubt we will be able to come to Springfield on Sunday, but we will be there in spirit and in love. With much love, Linda.

There are some absences that can never be filled. Her constant presence was substantial and gave Springfield credibility in the arena of foundational writing. I always keep her book with me. How To Write Poetry should be a standard in every poets library. She cared about the art, not just as a place to throw her words but as a construct of literary architecture. She will be more than missed, she will be undesirably and painfully silent in our community.

I will miss Lee Ann's happy smile when she greets everyone and her continued interest in how they are and the status of their writing projects. Their is now a void within the Springfield Writers Guild with her passing that will be hard to fill.
