L.A. Dale, age 95 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Cox South Medical Center. He was born on September 8, 1916 in Keifer, OK. the son of Calvin and Daisy Dale. He married Betty Ruth Sanders on October 17, 1938. L.A. spent most of his life in the Tulsa area before moving to Springfield in 1980. He worked for 38 years for Pepsi Cola in Tulsa and retired in 1990 from Hyster Forklift Company in Springfield. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. He also served as Post Commander for the Claremore, OK. VFW. He was ordained as a deacon at South Haven Baptist Church and served as president of the Riddle/Fitzpatrick Sunday School Class. He was loved and admired at South Haven by everyone from youth to seniors.
He is survived by his three children: Lea Dale of Las Vegas, NV., Harold Dale of Spring, TX., and Ronald J. Dale of Palm Springs, CA., six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and seven siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield. Burial will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
