Lillian Valarie Roberts, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 85 at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek in Springfield Mo. Lillian was born January 27, 1939, in London England, to the late Stanley and Elsie Jackson. After leaving school, she met and married Jon Roberts on June 9, 1962. They were happily married for 47 years until sadly Jon passed away in 2009. Together they travelled the world and shortly afterwards they had their daughter Cindy Lee and son Jon Michael. Lillian never met a stranger and had an affinity at making friends wherever she went. She loved playing card games along with dominoes and bingo. She was also very adept at making strawberry daiquiris. Lillian and Jon were members of the Cassidy Church up until his death and her recent physical limitations prevented her attendance. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lee Durand and son-in-law Greg M. Durand of Marquette, Michigan her son Jon M. Roberts and daughter-in-law Teresa D. Roberts of Nixa, Missouri and 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her younger brother Paul of Adelaide, Australia. The wonderful staff of Greenlawn North Funeral Home are preparing Lillian for her eternal resting destination. Memorial and funeral service will be determined at a later date.
