Linda “Tilley” Castro, age 68, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on December 14, 1949, in Oakland, Arkansas.
Linda married Ruben Castro on July 2, 1975 in North Dakota. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nebraska and received communion (shut in service) from St. Joseph’s Church here in Springfield. She worked at Bell South Telephone Company for 10 years as her children were growing up. She enjoyed traveling, socializing with family and friends, bargain hunting at flea markets and garage sales, she also loved picnics and family vacations. Linda was the youngest of 11 children in her family.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Roy Tilley, brothers: Chester Tilley, Lonnie Tilley, O.D. Tilley, Doyle Tilley, Ben Tilley and Junior Tilley, sisters: Venita Felstad, Reba Cotter and Rose Lewis. Nephews: Sandoval Tilley, Roy Cotter, Jason Tilley, Galen Tilley, Nieces: Marsha Tilley Berg, and Sheryl “Cookie” Tilley.

She is survived by her children, Shelly McCabe of Springfield, Mo, Kim Ramirez and husband Jose of Columbia, Tn and Ruben Aric Castro and his wife Melissa of Omaha, Nebraska, grandchildren, Nikki and Jesse McCord, Natalie McCabe, Timothy and Jenna Messersmith, Anthony Castro, Anna-Marie Castro, Myra Sue Castro, Jeff Koehler (“2nd son”), and Christopher Aquino, great-grandchildren, Neeco, Zarryn, Kaelii, Audrina, August and Aunyx, her brother, Don Tilley and his wife Carolyn of Mtn Home, Ark, Nieces: Virgie Cotter and Kermit of Viola, Ark, Ina Martino and Alex of Osceola, Mo, Lannie Williams of Norfork, Ark.,Debi Lewis-Kaminski and Larry of Mtn Home, Ark, Sandra Loftis of Mtn Home, Ark, Janice Tilley of Ark., Patsy Tilley of Gainesville, Mo, Sharon Rigot and Tom of Raytown, Mo, Lisa Utley and spouse of Florida, Nephews: Tony Tilley and Eddie of Mtn Home, Ark, Gary Cotter and Treva of Viola, Ark, Verlin Cotter of Ark, Larry Lewis and Irene, Junior Lewis and Brenda of Norfork, Ark, Aaron Tilley and Dawn of Mtn. Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 N. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65802, with fellowship following the service in a location to be announced.
Graveside services will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska at a date to be determined later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
