Linda Evans went to heaven on May 31, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. She died at her home in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 68. Linda was born on November 4, 1941 at Burge Hospital in Springfield. She graduated from Central High School, May 1959. Linda was a Kiltie for two years, and served as the Majorette for one year. She married Gary G. Evans in August of 1959. Together they began building homes and started a cabinet business, CASCO Kitchen Center in 1971.
Linda, Gary, and their children attended High Street Baptist Church from birth to 2009. She was a member of Graceway Baptist Church at the time of her death. She volunteered in many ministries such as teaching Sunday school, cooking and decorating for events, and serving on committees for planning special church anniversaries. Linda enjoyed hobbies of antique collecting, studying history, time at the lake with family, and home decorating.
She was preceded in death by her nephew, Clinton Cantrell and her father-in-law, George W. Evans. She is survived by her husband, Gary Evans, daughter, Susan Evans Connolly, and husband, Stan, son, Kirk Evans, and wife, Cindy, son, Scott Evans, and wife, Penny, eight grandchildren, Jarrod, Kyle, Hannah, Natalie, Austin, Connor, Lexi, and her little Jenna. She is also survived by her parents, Ken and Gay Cantrell, mother-in-law, Mildred Evans, brother, Randy Cantrell, and wife, Linda, niece, Lori K. Hackworth, nephew, Ryan Cantrell, several cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was greatly loved by all her family and will be extremely missed.
The visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Greenlawn East, 3540 E. Seminole, and the funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Graceway Baptist Church, 5010 S. Farm Road 135, (corner of Golden and Weaver Road), Springfield, Missouri. Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Highway EE.
