Lois Jane Melton, 61, of Springfield, left this life to meet our Lord, Savior and Creator on August 11, 2013. Lois was born to Melvin and Emma (Smith) Kates on January 22, 1952, in Oxnard, California.
She was an avid fisherman. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing bingo and loved spending time with her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty. She is survived by a daughter, Dallas Payne of Springfield; two sons, David Harris of Buffalo, and Tim Harris of Springfield; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie, Virginia, Bonnie, Don, Danny, Dempsy; and a host of extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 15, 2013, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
