Lonnie Wilkinson Jr. 94, Springfield, Mo. passed away May 27, 2019 at Quail Creek Skilled Nursing Center. He was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, on May 6, 1925, to Lonnie Wilkinson Sr. and Rosa Ann (Standrige) Wilkinson. He was a retired minister from the Church of Christ. He was a Navy and Army veteran, of W.W.II. In his earlier days, he was very active as a Chaplain with Mercy Hospital and Jordan Valley Care Center, for over 20 years.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wanda, in 2017, and two daughters: Katrina and Janetha. He is survived by two grandchildren: Joshua Moss and his wife, Diona, and Calley Hancock, three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Chloe, and Elliot, and one brother: David Wilkinson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at Watermill Church of Christ: 3020 North Barnes Avenue, Springfield, Mo. with burial to follow, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. before services at the church.
