Lorena K. Bray
Mrs. Lorena K. Bray, 90, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Springfield, Mo., passed away peacefully in her sleep at home after a brief illness, on July 3, 2009. She was born on December 17, 1918, in West Plains, Mo. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Paul C. Bray, in 1999; and her beloved daughter-in-law, Mary Pat Bray, in 2006. She is survived by her son, David G. Bray (Tara) of the home; her granddaughters, Christa L. Brown of Kansas City, and Michelle E. Magers (Brandon) of Raytown; two great-grandchildren, Cara and Travon Brown; two sisters, Juanita Dixon of West Plains, Mo., and Aloth Driskell of Toquerville, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. Lorena was a lifelong homemaker and a long time member of Central Christian Church, Springfield. She was active in the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield. She was very devoted to her family and gave her all to taking care of them through the very best and worst of times. Lorena was very special and will be missed dearly. According to Lorena’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 3 p.m., in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Central Christian Church, 1475 N. Washington Ave., Springfield, MO 65802, the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, 1410 N. Fremont Ave., Springfield, MO 65802, or the charity of your choice.
