Louise “Gom” Davis
Louise Davis, affectionately known as “Gom” peacefully joined family in Heaven on Wednesday Oct 13, 2021.
She was preceded in Death By her parents, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and husband Bill.
She is survived by her daughter Holly Denise Moll of Springfield, and her husband Bill,
A son William “Eddie” Davis of Springfield, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great- grandchildren.
She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth and spent many years volunteering in the church. She loved God, and her family with loyalty not often seen.
She never, in her life, put herself before anyone, and always looked for people to help. She demonstrated Gods love every day of her life.
Because of her true love for others, and her unfailing integrity, she was successful in business. She and husband Bill operated Davis Appliance successfully for 23 years in Forsyth, and Elite Salon Supply with her family for 11 years. She worked daily in her son Eddie’s business for several year and delighted in exceptional guest service. Everyone looked forward to visit with Louise.
Health issues forced her to leave her beloved Forsyth to be closer to children and Drs in Springfield in 2017. She enjoyed dining out, watching her grandchildren’s sports, church, and any opportunity to help people, whether she knew them or not.
She never complained, but rather praised, and gave thanks. She was always much more concerned about the well being of others, than herself, even to her last days on earth. She never complained about what she didn’t have, but rather gave thanks for all of her blessings. Her gentle ways, kindness, and integrity drew everyone to her, often having “counseling sessions” with complete strangers.
God’s love beamed from her when she entered the room!
She was a dedicated wife and mother, taking care of her husband Bill for many years while he was ill, and still holding everything else together. She was forced to close Davis appliance for 2 years due to Bills health, and hospitalization. She took care of her 2 small children, worked 2 jobs, and still managed to take Denise and Eddie to Little Rock to see their Dad on weekends. On Sunday, her only day she could sleep in, she took her children to Church, wearing her waitress uniform, and having to leave service early, but even through the hardest times, her faith never wavered. During this time, she was encouraged by an attorney to file bankruptcy. Her integrity wouldn’t allow that. She borrowed the money- she was going to pay it back!
Because of her integrity, and always doing the right thing, one of her creditors cleared a sizeable amount she owed on her business. This was even more proof that the “Good Lord” always provides!
She cared for numerous elderly people in Forsyth, taking them to Drs appointments, cleaning, taking them out to eat, and was never compensated, except the feeling it gave her. Her family can’t imagine life without their precious Gom, but she looked forward to meeting Jesus her whole life and taught her family that we will all be together in eternity, if we just accept Jesus. Her greatest hope was for all of her family to put their trust in the Lord.
While we are heartbroken, and devastated, we rejoice that she is no longer in pain, and is enjoying her crowns in heaven.
We Love you and miss you so much Gom!
