Lowell Dean Blankenship, 91, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on June 11, 2024, at Parkview Nursing Facility. Lowell was born on July 9, 1932, in Marshfield, Missouri, to E.C. and Montie (Keeler) Blankenship. He married Betty Stewart in 1973.

Lowell retired from the United States Army on his birthday in 1992, and had spent a total of 37 years in the Army Reserves. Lowell had a long career at the Missouri Department of Transportation as an Intermediate Construction Inspector, retiring after 42 years. He was saved in a revival at Star Ridge on June 13, 1996. Lowell was a member of Center Point Missionary Baptist Church where he attended until his health failed in February. He was always leading the song service.  In 1996, he participated in a mission trip to Chile with High Street Baptist Church to build a Church. Lowell also went on two church building trips with the South Haven Baptist Builders. He was the happiest when he was in the garden, mowing the lawn or leading the song service at Church.

Lowell is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Blankenship; his twin brother, Noel Gene Blankenship, of Springfield, MO, and his sister, Laudean Cantrell, of California.

He is survived by: his brother, Ronald Blankenship, of Marshfield, MO; Step-Daughters, Sharon Stoops, of Bolivar and Brenda Wrinkle, of Bolivar, MO; step grand-daughter, Traci Smithson (husband, Chris) of Lake Ozark, MO; step great-grandson, Colin Smithson, of Lake Ozark; step great-granddaughter, Megan Smithson, of Lake Ozark, MO; two daughters, Sherry Cook, of Fair Grove, MO and Sharon White, of Springfield, MO; two sons, Rick Blankenship, of Marshfield and Mike Blankenship (wife, Vickie), of Springfield, MO, and several grandkids and great-grandkids

A funeral service for Lowell will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 1:00 P.M., at Pitts Chapel Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar.
