Lynn Louise Bowman, 75, Springfield, MO. passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in her home. Lynn was born on November 2, 1941, in Staten Island, New York, to David Michael and Gladys Caroline Louise (Berggren) Hansen. She was an administrative secretary to Women’s Ministries of The General Council of the Assemblies of God, retiring after 17 years. Lynn Bowman worked for many years in the National Women's Ministries Department. Lynn was instrumental in developing a ministry for the widows of Assemblies of God ministers. She initiated a quarterly publication, “Uniquely His” that was sent to approximately 3,000 minister’s wives widows. Additionally, she developed a ministry packet, “Solace” that could be used by the local church to assist with a widow’s ministry to women in the church and community. This is only one of the many ministries that Lynn devoted her time and energy to assist women in the local church. She will be missed by many.She graduated from Central Bible College in 1963.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Bruce Hansen. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rev. David L. Bowman, her children: Deborah and Jason Harper and David and Cara Bowman, six grandchildren: Rebecca Harper, Luke Bowman, Madison Harper, Kyle Bowman, Emily Harper, and Lily Kate Bowman. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Gary and Linda Hansen, and a sister-in-law: Barbara Hansen.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Praise Assembly, 3535 North Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Lynn Bowman Memorial Fund c/o Assemblies of God Credit Union.
