Lynne Marie Hooper, a beloved wife and mother, died on Friday, November 4, 2022, at her home in Republic, Missouri. She was 65 years old.
Lynne was the first daughter born to Richard Harry Hooper and Judith Leigh Hooper on June 29, 1957 in Orange, California. She grew up in Yorba Linda, California with her two younger sisters, Karan Cook and Sheryl Miller. She was married and gave birth to two amazing children, Julie Forbis and Michael Hooper. A mutual friend introduced her to the love of her life, Bob Gilpin, in 1986. They had a long and loving courtship and were married on February 2, 1998.
Lynne was a successful business woman working in the insurance industry for over 30 years. As a young single mother, Lynne attended college and worked hard for numerous years to earn a college degree in business from Missouri State University. Although dedicated to her career, she was even more devoted to her family and numerous friends. All of her energy was quietly channeled to serving her family and friends. From her early 30’s until the present time, she has created and hand-sewn dozens of intricate Christmas stockings for her loved ones. These stockings are a work of art and will always be treasured as a memory and a reminder of the selfless nature of Lynne.
Lynne possessed a giving heart, an adventurous spirit, and a deep love for other people. Lynne always prioritized the needs of others over her own and never complained. She had a very special and close relationship with her daughter, Julie. They were best friends!
Lynne has five treasured grandchildren. Her son Michael lives in Florida with his wife, Alyssa, and their three children: Ella, Andrew and William. Her daughter Julie lives in Republic, Missouri, with her husband, Barry, and their two children: Hunter and Shelby. Lynne deeply loved all five of her grandchildren. Lynne was intimately involved in the day-to-day life of her grandchildren, Hunter and Shelby. Lynne and her husband Bob were active in Hunter and Shelby’s lives – driving them to school, sporting events, daily errands, and teaching values and a strong work ethic.
Lynne was cherished by her entire extended family, including her numerous nieces and nephews: Aneysa (Kevin) Foflygen, Abigail (Tracy) Lucas, Auvia (Shane) Logan, Sam (Emmaline) Cook, Joe (Anna) Cook, Jed Cook, Faith (Josh) Davis, Jane (Sam) Hutchinson, and Becky Cook. She consistently attended piano recitals, graduations, birthday parties, and other special events to honor and encourage them.
Lynne was a woman of exceptional quality, grace, and fortitude. The loss of Lynne will be grieved by all.
A memorial service will be hosted on Wednesday, November 9th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home East located at 3540 E. Seminole in Springfield, Missouri.
