Marilynn L. Ellis, 82, Mt. Vernon, MO. formerly of Springfield, MO. passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in her home, after a long illness. She was born on February 14, 1941, in Springfield, MO. to Bert and R. Louise (Spillers) Ellis. She was a 1958 graduate of Central High School and was a retired Telephone Operator and Supervisor, for Southwestern Bell/AT&T, after 36 years of service. Marilynn was a member of the Pythian Avenue Baptist Church and the Pioneers club at AT&T. She loved spending time with her family, and Knitting.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her mother and father, R. Louise and Bert Ellis of Springfield, MO. a sister and her husband, Judy and Richard Hoover, of Aurora, MO. a nephew: Steve Lowry, of Aurora, MO, and niece Lybbe Unruh, of Grove, OK. Marilynn is survived by her two daughters: Cassandra (Cassie) Ellis Herd, of Mt. Vernon, MO. and Marianne Ellis Wyse, of Mt. Vernon, MO., five grandchildren: Corey and Stephanie Hudson, Wesley Hudson, Chelsea and Joel Loveland, Parker and Lauren Herd, and Blain and Kate Wyse, eight Great-Grandchildren: Tristan, Cole, Zane, Elizabeth, Marlow, Teegan, Emmett, Tinslee and two babies on the way, for a total of ten. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Kathy Lowry, Aurora, MO. Bill Unruh, Grove, Ok, Tami Hoover, Monett, MO. and Wynn Hoover, of Springfield, MO. as well as great-nephew: Broc and Leanne, and family, Ami and family, Molly and family, Wade and family, her fur babies: Ruby, Celie, and Piper, as well as a lot of cousins, through out her family. Mom loved each and everyone. Thank you from Cassie and Marianne.
A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
