Marion Kolar was born on September 29, 1926, in Arkansas City, Kansas. He died on January 5, 2025, at the age of 98. His parents were Hazel Weter Kolar and Vandy Kolar. On December 30, 1947, he married Opal Smith. They were married for 70 years, until her death in 2018.

Marion owned Kolar’s Business Machines. In his free time he loved golfing, traveling, playing pool, dancing and singing with the Shrine Chanters. He also loved spending time with his four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

He is survived by his daughters, Valorie Jean Farmer (Stan) and Deborah Lassley, his grandchildren, Elizabeth Chapman (Jason), Jessica Grace (Russell), Addy McCord, and Lyndsey Wingo (Sean), great grandchildren, Ethan, Maggie and Nora Grace, Jillian Malachowski, and Jack and Finn Wingo.

We would like to thank the staff at Castlewood, Dr. Kim, Stacey and Amada for the excellent care he received. Services will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
