Mark Robert Perry, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at home on August 14, 2025. Mark was born to Bob and Betty (Versaw) Perry on February 25, 1955, in Springfield, Missouri. A graduate of Parkview High School in 1973, he went on to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University). On October 5, 1973, he married the love of his life, Brenda Kay Gregory, in Springfield, Missouri. They shared 51 years of marriage and were blessed with two children, Matt and Summer.
Mark retired from Global University where he served as Chief Financial Officer for 18 years. Beyond his professional life, he sat on several boards, most recently Life360 Community Services, the Future Legacy Program, and Ozarks Area Racers Foundation. He was an active member of the Life360 Missions Action Team and Life 360 WestGate Advisory Team. He was also the District Representative for Light for the Lost and regularly volunteered with Friends of the Library, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, Royal Family Kids Camp, and the Future Legacy Camp for children in the foster care community. He served as track chaplain for many years at local racetracks, particularly Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri.
Mark was inducted into the Ozarks Area Racers Foundation Hall of Fame in 2011. He was a loyal supporter of the Springfield Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs, as well as local high school and university sports teams.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Bob Perry, mother Betty Perry, and daughter Summer Perry. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Perry; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Deanna Perry; grandsons Coen and Canaan Perry; brother Steve Perry; sister Cindy Waters and her husband Pat; brother Chris Perry and his wife Teri; brother-in-law Terry Gregory and his wife Sandy; stepmother Carol Perry; aunt Annette Perry; and numerous extended family and friends. He also leaves behind his loyal canine companion, Beezly, and faithful nap partner, Bitsy.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11 AM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mark’s memory to the Future Legacy Program (FutureLegacyProgram.org), a ministry of Life360 WestGate that provides mentoring and tutoring to children in the foster care community.
The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home North with his care.
