Mark Sebastian Stewart, age 69, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Cox Medical Center South.
He was born August 21, 1940, in Springfield, MO, to Harry and Lola (Boyd) Stewart.
Mark’s family and friends loved him for his generous nature and ornery sense of humor. What Mark loved most was to spend time with his family and some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and golfing with his brothers. Mark took great joy in coaching his children and others in various sports throughout his life. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and a fan of the University of Missouri Tigers.
Mark was preceded in death by parents Harry and Lola Stewart, and four beloved brothers: Tommy Stewart, Bob Stewart, Larry Dean Stewart, and Kenny Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Barbara, of Springfield, and four children: Gary Stewart and wife Andrea of Springfield, Deanna Behrens and husband Nevin of Springfield, Linda DuPont and husband Robert of Garnett, Kansas, and Brian Stewart and wife Kerrie of Claremore, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Shawn Behrens and wife Christy, Jeff Stewart and Krista Hutton, Eric Behrens, Derek Stewart, Zach DuPont, Ashley DuPont, and Lucas DuPont; two great-grandchildren: Isabella Lynn Behrens and Molly Ann Stewart; two brothers: Billy Stewart and wife Sherry, and Keith Stewart and wife Carroll; four sisters: Marcella Brooks and husband Joe, Nancy Robertson, Lena Johnson, and Karen Bisher and husband Stan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, Missouri with Mr. Stan Bisher officiating. Burial will be held in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Relay for Life. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Springfield, Missouri.
