Marlene Climer, 79, of Springfield, MO passed away at home on January 30 at 5:22 PM.
Marlene was born on November 2, 1944 to William Herbert McBee and Bitha Galloway McBee in Flippin, AR. After Marlene graduated from Flippin High School, she moved to Springfield, MO where she started working as a waitress at Taylor Drive Inn. She also served as a waitress for some of the top notch restaurants such as P.J. Brennan, GoldenLion and Shady Inn.
In 1961, Marlene met Ronnie Pendergrass and they were married one week after meeting. They welcomed their first daughter, Conita Sue in 1963. Marlene and her second husband Al Johnson brought a second daughter, Anita K, into the world.
Marlene loved opened MJ’s Flea Mart which quickly became her passion along with searching out local garage sales.
Marlene and Donnie were married for almost twenty years. They lived their life together enjoying family time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marlene loved working in her yard and gardening. Her green thumb would really shine thru while tending to her beautiful flowers. Marlene and Donnie loved listening to Elvis Presley’s religious music. Marlene loved Jesus and she always put family first especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren who were so precious to her. Marlene passed after six months after losing her soulmate.
Marlene was predeceased by her Father William Herbert McBee and her Mother Bitha Galloway McBee . She had nine brothers and sisters of which six have passed, Agert McBee, Bill McBee, Connie Mattox, Maxine Curran, Willie Richter and Joy Parks.
Marlene is survived by two daughters.

Marlene is survived by two of 9 siblings, Tommy Sue Luttjohann and Carl Wayne McBee, Sr.
a slew of Nieces and Nephews and amazing Friends
Marlene’s service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 9am at Greenlawn North. Burial will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at 11AM with her husband Donald Climer.
