Martha Harris 65, of Branson, Missouri passed away August 22, 2013 at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri after a short illness.
Martha was born October 14, 1947 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Marion Franklin Giddley and Lucretia Bell Giddley.
She started her working career in Harrisonville, Missouri as a waitress at age 13. Later she worked as an office clerk at Bridges Chevrolet dealership.
She met and married her husband of 42 years and moved to Topeka, Kansas. There she was employed at the Venture store as a receiving manager.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, James Giddley. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Harris of Branson, four children, Terry Harris (Jennifer) of Topeka, Debbie Wherrell of Topeka, Shawn E. Harris (Linda) of LaMonte, Missouri, Kevin E. Harris (Kim) of Topeka. A sister, Francis Cowan (Gene) of Garden City, Missouri, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
After moving to Branson, Missouri in 1998, Martha opened The Copper Jewelry Store and was in business until her death.
Martha’s favorite pasttime was fishing in Table Rock Lake. She was loved and will be missed by all her family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 708 State Highway 248, Branson, Missouri. After services she will be transported to Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 S.W. 17th St., Topeka Kansas for burial at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 on the northwest side in the Praying Hands Section of the cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
