Martha Lou Ragsdale, a beloved sister and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on August 21, 1936, in Santa Paula, California, to Ruby Leonard and Atha Pearl (Roberts) Ragsdale, she spent her formative years cultivating a spirit of resilience and determination that would carry her through life’s many challenges.
Martha established a successful career as an Account Representative in the farm equipment sales industry for Farmland Industries, where her dedication and keen sense of customer relations earned her the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every transaction, and she found great joy in supporting the farming community. She was a member of the Kearney First Baptist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister Edna Pearl Ragsdale.
A resident of Kearney, Missouri for many years, Martha was known for her warm spirit and generosity. She shared a special bond with her brother, Clifford Ragsdale (Ann), and sister Marcella Babcock (Raymond) all of Kearney, MO; nephews: Ray Babcock of MO, Mike Babcock (Aimee) of Independence, MO, Russell Babcock of Kansas City, MO, and Darrin Ragsdale (Brianne) of Kearney, MO; a niece Amy Krigbaum (Brad) of Cherokee Village, AR; six great nieces and nephews; as well as many friends, who will forever hold the memories of their time together close to their heart. Martha’s laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In celebration of Martha’s life, funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Pitts Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour before services from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in a serene burial at Payne Cemetery in Polk, Missouri, surrounded by the beauty she cherished throughout her life.
As we reflect on the legacy of Martha Lou Ragsdale, let us remember her love for family, her dedication to her work, and the indelible mark she left on everyone she encountered. She may be gone from this earth, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
