Mary F. Evans, age 94, of Springfield, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2024, after a brief residence at a local memory care facility. Mrs. Evans, daughter of the late E.S. and Dora (Stowe) Markum, was born on November 16, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Sidney C. Stonewall in April of 1947, and they were married for 24 years until his passing in 1971. She later married Charles Evans in July of 1974, who preceded her in death in March of 2010.

She attended school in Springfield, Missouri, and in Portland, Oregon. Prior to her passing, she was a member of South Gate Baptist Church in Springfield. She had also enjoyed the fellowship of women friends through a local Red Hat Club, a doll-making club and a church widows group.

Mary loved crafts of all kinds from making life size ceramic dolls to the intricate details of crocheting, and she also was an excellent seamstress. She was a caregiver for her husband Charles before his death and afterwards volunteered at Grand Oak Mission.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Donalson, grandson Ryan (Beth) and granddaughter Becky Worthy (Nathan) four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and three sisters, Josephine Waddell, Jeannette Isaac and Sarah Evans and son-in-law Doug Donalson.

Services for Mary will be at 2:00 pm Monday, August 26, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Interment will follow at Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
