Mary Louise Herre Staley
Mary Staley passed away Thursday morning, January 31, 2019, in the family room of her childhood home where she was being cared for by her husband, Stephen R. Staley, her family, and many wonderful hospice caregivers.
Mary was born November 16th, 1950, the first child of Louis I. Herre and Vera B. Brown Herre, in Washington D.C. In 1958 the family moved to Springfield, MO, where she lived until the time of her death.
Mary and Steve had no children of their own, but she was called “Aunt Mel” by all her nieces, nephews, children of her friends, and others. She was loved by all.
Mary worked at Coors of the Ozarks and made many good friends over the years. She also enjoyed traveling and tried to do as much of that as possible. She went to places from New York to Hawaii and enjoyed seeing the sights and meeting the people.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Lynn Sisco, her niece, Grace L. Herre. She is survived by her husband, her brother in law James Edwin Staley, and brother James L. Herre. She is also survived by, Robert S. Herre and his wife Gretchen Wienecke and their children Raymond M. Herre, Nicole R. Herre, and Robert L. Herre.
Mary was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
