On May 7, 2013, Sue moved to her heavenly home. She was born May 4, 1926 to Beatrice and Elva Burlison of Springfield.
She married Jim Buxton, Jr. on August 25, 1944. They had seven children: Cheryle Tapp, Trish Snelson, Joan Denison, Brenda Morris, Bruce Buxton, Alicia Surridge and Jayne Austin; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents, two daughters, one granddaughter, two sisters and her brother.
She was an active member at First Baptist Church of Springfield and owned and operated Buxton Realty for nearly 30 years.
Services will be held in First Baptist Church on South Ave. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
