Matthew Obryan Kenney, 39, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on January 29, 2022. Matthew was born on November 30, 1982, to Walter Kenney and Karen Magness in Springfield, Missouri. He was a 2001 graduate of Hillcrest High School. After high school, he began working at K-Mart while he was in college. While working there he met the love of his life, Megan Shipley. They were married on September 3, 2009 in Springfield.
Matthew later worked as a Team Lead at Ttech. He was loved by everyone. Anytime he left the house he would see someone who knew him. He had a big heart and made friends with everyone he met. Matthew was a roleplaying gamer, a passion he shared with Megan and is how their love blossomed. The gaming community was his second family. Matthew would do anything for anyone. He could find any thing, at any time, within seconds. He had everything you need before you could even ask for it. He loved art and studied graphic design.
Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Megan; brothers, Walter Kenney and Tyler Magness; 11 nieces and nephews; and countless friends that are more like family. He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Matthew will take place on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
