It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Hugh Williams, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on March 4, 2025. Born on February 25, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, Michael embodied kindness and determination throughout his life. Served 40 years in the railroad industry, the last 25 years as a union representative, he was known for his unwavering commitment to the workers he served. Michael, also had a passion for NASCAR, watching the cardinals play ball, and asking everyone he met if they had a tall stack of crisp $100 bills.
Michael was a man of great spirit, whose laughter and warmth could brighten even the darkest of days. He cherished his family deeply, leaving behind his beloved wife, Vickie Williams, and his devoted daughters, Kim Cooner and Ashley Slyter. He is also survived by his caring son-in-laws, Jason Cooner and Johnny Slyter, as well as his cherished grandchildren: John Armitage, Logan Armitage, Jordan Little, Vivian Wallace, and Ruthie Slyter. Great Grandchildren; Emma Armitage, Atlas Sleeth, and one on the way. As well as his sister Marsha(TJ) and brother Tom. Their lives are forever enriched by the love and wisdom that Michael imparted.
As we navigate this time of sorrow, we honor Michael Hugh Williams, whose legacy will continue to live on in our hearts forever. His kindness, dedication, and love will remain with us, a guiding light through the days ahead.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Williams, mother, Ruth Williams, and his grandmother, Rebecca Williams.
