Michael Jay Smading, age 77, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at his home on September 26, 2024. He was born on November 28, 1946, in Nevada, Missouri. He graduated from Cassville High School in 1964 and then served in the Air Force. Mike was united in marriage to Sandra Kay (Howell) Smading on November 20, 1965, in Exeter, Missouri. Mike received Christ into his life on September 20, 2024.
Mike is survived by his wife Sandra Kay Smading; children, Michele Parsley (Mike) and Angela Cary (David); and 3 grandchildren, Blake, Sarah, and Elizabeth.
He enjoyed fishing, golf and bluegrass music. And he always had a sense of humor!
The graveside service for Mike will be October 4,2024, 11:00 AM, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family ask that donations be made in lieu of flowers to St. Judes Children’s Hospital and The Humane Society of SW Missouri. The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion shown with Michael.
