Michael Murphy “Airhead” Merrill, of Springfield Missouri, born February 26, 1950, to Joseph and Dolly (Wilson) Merrill in St. Joe Missouri passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, in Springfield Missouri, leaving 71 years of memories for his family and friends to cherish.

Those who will cherish his memories include:  Wife Carol Merrill, Son Michael S Merrill, grandchildren Willow Chapman (AKA: Aleesha Merrill) and Derek Mooneyham (AKA: Markus Merrill), brother Jim (Jillian) Merrill, sister Becky Gilham, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Dolly (Wilson) Merrill and siblings Ada Mae Merrill, John Merrill, Pat Merrill, Gene Merrill, Robert Merrill, William Merrill, Adeline Tuck, Bertha DeHamer, and Joseph Merrill.

Michael enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing poker. He volunteered in A Sporting Chance to help many who were disabled, abused, and senior citizens participate in athletic competitions and always be a winner.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 12, 2021, 1:00pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation to be prior starting at 12:00 pm, burial will be privately held.
