Michael Shawn Wiseley passed away on February 1, 2025. Michael was born to Ronald Edward Wiseley and Helen “JoAnn” (Dixon) Wiseley on July 15, 1965, and was the older brother to Christy (Wiseley)Murray.

At a young age, Michael accepted Christ as his personnel savior while attending Seminole Baptist Church starting a life dedicated to God’s Kingdom.

Michael attended Grandview High School, graduating in 1983 and furthered his education, graduating from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a degree in political science. While attending Kansas City Baptist Temple Michael graduated from the Sheperd School of Ministry and participated in the circuit riding preacher ministry. It was during this time that Michael found his true calling in the discipling of young men and teaching God’s word.

Michael moved to Springfield Missouri in 1998 and began a long 27-year career at Mckesson, now Netsmart.

Michael attended Southside Baptist Church from 1998-2022 where he became a deacon, a Sunday School teacher and continued his work discipling young men towards a life lived for God. It was here where he met his soul mate, Janna, and in April of 2000 they were married.

Michael, Janna and their 2 girls, April and Michaela, began attending Cherry Street Baptist Church in 2022 where Michael continued to teach discipleship classes and be used by God. Michael loved to read about, teach about and talk about anything heaven and longed for the day he could throw crowns at Jesus’s feet.

Michael was smitten with Janna and was looking forward to celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary later this year. Michael cherished the time he spent with Janna and his girls and enjoyed fun gifts, great food and travel together. His greatest joy was being a father to April and Michaela and recognized them as gifts from God.

Over the past 3 years Michael became a valuable member of the Kickapoo Golden Arrow Band Booster Club, spending countless hours volunteering, driving trucks, building props and chaperoning on many trips. Michael was a huge fan of his nieces and nephews, cheering them on through pharmacy school, health issues, military journeys and any other activities they were involved in.

Michael loved family and always found time to be present with them whenever possible. He was their biggest fan.

Michael’s eclectic taste was displayed through his snappy dressing which always included a hat and a vest. He loved his Kansas City Chiefs football team, all things Star Wars, Dr. Who, and military history, 80’s music, a trip to a museum and travel. However, his greatest love was sharing his faith and his love for Jesus.

Michael was proceeded in death by several Aunts and Uncles and his Grandparents on both sides of the family. He leaves behind his wife Janna and 2 daughters, April and Michaela. Parents Ron and JoAnn Wiseley and in-laws Robert and Joyce Smith. Sister, Christy Murray and husband Mike, 3 sister in-laws, 3 brother in-laws, 4 nephews, 9 nieces and many extended and loved family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 7, 2025 at Cherry Street Baptist Church at noon with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m.  Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
