Mildred P. Wollard (Strain), age 95, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at Cox South Hospital on July 24, 2022. She was born to Amos and Bessie Dill in Long Lane, Missouri, on September 27, 1926. She was united in marriage to Floyd J. Strain, who passed away in 1959. She was the Director of Nursing at Maranatha Village until her retirement in 1993.
She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd J. Strain; parents Amos and Bessie Dill; son Ray Strain; brothers Paul, Burley, Jay, and Joe; sisters Ivy and Alice. She is survived by her children Gay Simons (Jerry) and Jay Strain (Carolyn); grandchildren Angie Simons, Shawn Simons, Jeff Strain, and Michelle Whiteid; great-grandchildren Justin Cockrum, Kenny Evans, Andrea Turner, Brandon Simons, Jolene Simons, Chelsea Strain, Riley Strain, and Jake Bradley; great-great-grandchildren Braxton Cockrum, Dixie Turner, Bow Turner, Kye Simons, Maddox Evans, and Mason Evans; sister Mary Huffman (Bob); and daughter-in-law Rosalee Strain.
There will be a graveside service held at Greenlawn Memorial Garden on Friday August 5 at 10:00 am.
