Sharon Kay Wilson, aged 80, passed away on October 30, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on January 16, 1944, Sharon dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her community.
Sharon was a beacon of energy and devotion, touching the lives of many with her hardworking nature and loving spirit. She spent her career serving others in various capacities, from waiting tables at Fletcher’s BBQ to managing her own beauty shop, both in Springfield, Missouri. Sharon retired in 1995 to enjoy a quieter life by Table Rock Lake, yet she remained active, indulging in her passion for crafts, woodworking, and watching race cars.
A devout member of the Hilltop Full Gospel Church, Sharon’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions. her commitment to her faith and church community was evident in everything she did. Sharon is survived by a loving family, including her husband, Jay Wilson; her daughter, Sherry Latham and spouse Terry; stepson, Robbie WIlson and his wife Sheri; sisters, Willa Hayworth, Betty Wyatt, and Violet Webb; brother, Bobby Taylor; and her cherished grandchildren David, Dustin, Jessica, Amanda, Kayla, and Kyle. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Dominique, Kierra, Gunner, Scotty, Aras, Kayden, Karmyn, Kamryn, Kassidy, and great-great-grandchildren Lakelynn and Kiana. Sharon leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna McCreary; stepfather, Bill Taylor; daughters, Kathryn, Lisa, and Becky; stepdaughter, Brandy Wilson; and siblings Ava, Burly Jean, Avonell, Cynthia, Jimmy, Jackie, Billy, and Richard.
A service to honor Sharon’s life will be held on November 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri. Sharon’s life was a testament to her unyielding love and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
