Donna Dreher of Springfield, Missouri, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 28, 2018.

She was born MyDonna Sue Klopfenstein on December 6, 1944 in Columbia City, IN to Don and Betty Klopfenstein. The middle of three kids, she grew up in Columbia City until she married her husband of 50 years, Peter Dreher, raising their family in Chicago for many years before retiring to the Ozarks.

Known as “Mama” to her kids and grandchildren, she was passionate about her family, her dogs, skiing, flying, church, and she loved nothing more than to sit down and play her piano. She was an accomplished pilot, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, tireless and hardworking homemaker, and BEST cake maker EVER.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Don Klopfenstein and Betty Pettit, and by her husband Peter, and by her in-laws Maria and August Dreher. She is survived by her stepson Peter and wife Nancy, daughter Kimberly Knowles, daughter Debby and husband Mark Hunter, grandchildren Zach and wife Taryn, Michael, Joanna and husband Phil, Stephen and wife Taylor, Derek, and Devon, great-grandchildren Lily, Richard, and Frances. She is also survived by her brother Kirby, sister Vicky, brother-in-law Jim and sister-in-law MaryAnn Dreher, and nieces and nephews Todd, Kerry, Jody, Linda and Jim.

Visitation will be at Greenlawn East in Springfield from 11:00 – 1:00 on Friday, June 1st, followed by a brief funeral service at 1:00. Donna will be buried alongside family at St. John’s Cemetery.
