Nancy Ellen Hibner, age 78, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on January 10, 2024, in her home. Nancy was born to Charles and Mary Snidow on November 5, 1945, in San Antonio, TX. She graduated high school in Fort Smith, Arkansas and attended the local community college prior to marrying her Sweetie Pie. Nancy was united in marriage to David Lee Hibner on January 4, 1964 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. The couple were blessed with 4 children.
Nancy retired from Barnes and Noble, as a Lead Book Seller for the Children’s Department. Nancy had many interests and pastimes including being a Reading Buddy for the local school district, teaching youth at Parkview Christian Church, attending her local drum therapy class, playing her daily Wordle games, and working out with her Silver Sneakers friends. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than being “Nana”. Nancy was over the moon each time a new Little came into the world and would laugh about losing track of how many times she was a Nana. She simply adored each one. Nancy was also one who cared deeply for others. When she said she would pray for someone she meant it. She will be remembered as Miss Nancy to so many. She was often
described by others as ornery and witty. She loved to tease and have a good laugh while going down memory lane. Nancy will be remembered for the way she loved on people. She listened when the moment called for it and gave gently advice when asked. Above all these things, Nancy will be remembered for the love she had for her Sweetie Pie. Anyone that knew Nancy also knew, or knew of, her beloved Sweetie Pie, Dave.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Hibner; father, Charles Snidow; mother, Mary Snidow; and brother, Stephen Snidow. She is survived by her four children, Lori Jones and husband Mark, David Hibner and wife Trenna, Sara Brookhouse, and Stephen Hibner; grandchildren, Paul James, Zachary Reash and wife Zuri, Charlie Hibner, Megan Beavers and husband Seth, Brett Jones and wife Kaylee, Ethan Jones, Caleb Hibner, Noah Hibner, Emily Hibner, and Matthew Hibner; great grandchildren Annabelle Reash, David Reash, Jamie Morgan, Skyler Beavers, MacKenzie Beavers, Ivy Jones, Emmaus Jones, and Isabella Jones; and a host of family and friends.
