It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Marie Hamby, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Nancy was born on October 7, 1941, in Great Bend, Kansas, and she peacefully departed from this world on September 17, 2024, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, Missouri. She was united in marriage to James A Garfield Hamby July 4, 1957.
Nancy dedicated herself to her work as a Shipping Supervisor in the floral manufacturing industry, where she brought care and diligence to all she did. Her commitment to excellence and kindness touched the lives of many. Nancy leaves behind a legacy of hard work and compassion that will be remembered by all who knew her. She was a member of the Aldrich United Methodist Church Aldrich, MO.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Vera (Miller) Osburn; her husband James Hamby; a grandson Ryan Hamby, a great grandson Jace Hamby; and one sister Margaret.
She is survived by her loving children, Harold Hamby (Rhonda) of Canton, KS, Theresa Jones (Gary) of Aldrich, MO, Jerry Hamby (Jenise) of Bolivar, MO, and Larry Hamby (Darla) of Collins, MO; nine grandchildren: Larry James Hamby, Melinda Burnett, Sharr Hamby, Gary Hamby, Brian Oyler, Alisha Newburn, Rachel Franco, Lorrie Williamson, and Lacy Hamby; 11 great grandchildren. Their hearts are heavy with grief, but they find comfort in the wonderful memories and moments shared with their dear mother.
The funeral services to honor Nancy’s life will be held at the Pitts Chapel on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Nancy will be laid to rest at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery in Bear Creek, Missouri, following the service. There will be a visitation from 3:30 to 4:00 pm before the service.
