It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Dean Reynolds, who departed this life on April 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 17, 1946, in Polk, MO, to Ray Jerry and Zelda Ellen (Lightfoot) Reynolds.  It was in the Polk community that he met his future wife, Donna Erlene Bybee.  They were united in marriage on May 30, 1969, and to this union one son was born.

Neil was saved at the age of 10 at Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church.  He joined and was baptized, remaining a member his whole life.  He loved going to church and was ordained a deacon in 1974 and served on the Sentinel Cemetery Board for many years.

After finishing high school at Bolivar, the class of 1963, Neil graduated from Southwest Baptist University with degrees in Math and Education.  He had several jobs throughout his lifetime including chemist, math teacher, and working at Southwest Electric Cooperative until he retired.  Neil loved his farm, especially his cattle.  He also loved fishing and hunting.  He loved to find a good place to eat.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Gwinneth Payne and Dorothy Meese; and a brother Jerry Reynolds.

Neil is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Donna Reynolds; their son, Kirk Reynolds and his wife Beth; granddaughters: Brooke and Paige Reynolds; a sister Willa Hood; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and church.

A funeral service will be held on April 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Pitts Chapel with Bro.’s Mike Bruce and Dusty Armstrong officiating.  Burial will follow at Sentinel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, providing family and friends with an opportunity to pay their respects.  Online condolences may be made at: greenlawnfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.

Neil will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy will endure through those he inspired throughout his life.
