Norma Jean (Holdeman) Dickerson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend entered the gates of heaven on her 85th birthday, June 17, 2024. She was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 17, 1939, to Harold E. and Bertie Mae (Gooch) Holdeman. Norma graduated from Parkview High School. She was united in marriage to James L. Dickerson in November of 1982. She owned and operated Sunshine Preschool. Norma was a member of the East Sunshine Church of Christ. Norma Jean was loved by all who she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Harold D. Holdeman.
Norma is survived by her son, David Rensch; her daughter and husband, Linda and Kenny Strain; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jenna Strain, Chad and Erika Strain, Amanda and Brian McCool, Michael and Jessica Rensch, and Joseph and LeAnn Rensch; seven great-grandchildren, Trey Giles, Landon McCool, Abby McCool, Jacob Rensch, Elizabeth Rensch, Charlotte Rensch, and Madelyn Strain; as well as a special friend, Betty Decker.
She will be laid to rest in Hopedale Cemetery near Ozark, Missouri on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ozarks Food Harvest: P.O. Box 5746, Springfield, MO 65801, as she never wanted anyone to go hungry.
