Patricia Ann Bryan, age 88, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in her home. She was born on November 6, 1936, to William C Bloir and Eleanor T (Gilkey) Bloir in El Dorado, KS. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1954. After dating for 4 years, Patricia married Jimmie Allen Bryan on January 16, 1955, at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS. They were blessed with four sons: Flint, Mark, Bart, and Todd. Jim and Pat were married for 62 years before his death in 2017.
Patricia was employed at various businesses around El Dorado. She and Jim owned and operated PJ’s Sandwich Shop for several years in downtown El Dorado. Patricia later worked for the Kansas Turnpike where she retired in 2002. Early in Jim and Pat’s life together, they enjoyed square dancing. They also enjoyed entertaining friends and family in their home. Her grandchildren have fond memories of their time with her at the lake as well as the soda and ice cream that she kept available for them at her house. Playing the board game Aggravation while sipping on an ice-cold Dr. Pepper was one of Pat’s favorite past times. In fact, she played so much that the table will forever bear the marks from the many rolls of the dice. She will always be remembered for her love of purple. Her favorite outing was going to the nail salon for a manicure in the newest shade. Patricia accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young girl at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS. After Jim’s salvation, they became members at Temple Baptist Church where she served the Lord by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, and helping to organize church dinners. In 2002, Jim and Pat moved to Springfield, MO where they served at Hillside Baptist Church and later South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, sons Flint and Todd, sister Bobbie Lewis as well as parents and grandparents. She is survived by two sons: Mark Bryan (Donna) of Wichita, KS; Bart Bryan (Jackie) of Greenville, TX; two daughters in law: Kimberly Bryan of Springfield, MO; Sandy Bryan of Surrency, GA; eleven grandchildren; Joshua Bryan (Jami), Jeremy Bryan (Amanda), Jennifer Ogan (Eric), Abby Maclaskey (Walter), Luke Bryan (Kate), Landon Bryan (Amber), Caleb Bryan, Cheyenne Parker (Caleb), Kaylee Gibson (Cameron), T.J. Bryan and Jace Bryan; twenty-four great-grandchildren; her sister Sherry Honeyman (Max); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Patrica will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00am at Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS. A burial service will follow at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in Patricia’s memory to the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church missions fund, Springfield, MO.
