Patricia ‘Pat’ Suzanne (Tuck) Giberson, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Missouri, and proud graduate of Greenwood High School, passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 93.
Pat’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her passionate advocacy for individuals with disabilities. She cherished her husband, Ralph, and their son, Skip. It was through Skip that Pat found her passion, becoming a tireless champion for others. Pat played pivotal roles in establishing, leading, volunteering and supporting organizations such as ARC, DCO, Special Olympics, Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, Springfield Workshop (SWI Industries), and Branches at Brookline. Her impact on the community was profound and lasting.
In 1966, Pat began a remarkable 40-year career at Carnahan-White Fence Company, hired by Bill White. Her dedication and warmth quickly made her colleagues feel like family, and she cultivated a close, enduring relationship with the White family that spanned four generations.
Beyond her professional life and advocacy, Pat was a faithful lifetime member of First Baptist Church Springfield, Missouri. She was deeply involved with many church ministries and activities, dedicating over 40 years to working with the preschool department. She also treasured the many Christmas Eve services when Skip sang ‘Silent Night’ for the congregation.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mildred Tuck; her beloved husband, Ralph Giberson; their son, Skip; her sisters, Jane Zonka and Marilyn Tuck; and her brother, Paul Tuck. Pat had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, effortlessly turning acquaintances into cherished friends and expanding her family through her boundless love. She is survived by countless individuals who considered Pat a dear friend, and many who loved her as a beloved member of their own families.
Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn South in Springfield on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at 10:00 with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Branches at Brookline, PO Box 602, Brookline, MO 65619.
