Paula Christian (Danner), 68, of Springfield, Missouri, who peacefully departed this life on April 9, 2025. Born on June 1, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Paula touched the hearts of many throughout her life.
Paula grew up in Poplar Bluff, graduating from Poplar Bluff Senior High School in 1974. After graduation, she attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. After she graduated from college with her Associates, she stayed on as part of the staff, becoming an administrative assistant in the administration office at the university. She enjoyed her time at Harding University, but eventually left there to move to Springfield, Missouri where she worked for several years at American National Insurance. That move would eventually lead to the love of her life.
Steadfast in her religious beliefs, Paula was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ. Many years ago, after dealing with a long illness, the first place she wanted to be able to go when she felt better was church. Through church activities, she met Barney in 1994, and they were married on April 12, 1996, at East Grand Church of Christ. They shared 29 years together until her passing.
Paula was known for her unwavering love of horses, a passion that brought her much joy. Her affection for all farm animals was evident, but it was her beloved horses that truly held a special place in her heart. Paula cherished moments spent dining out and enjoying scenic drives, activities she missed dearly as her eyesight began to fade.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Wayne and Vera Lee (Webber) Danner. Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Barney Christian, sister, Jo Shrable, niece Kerre and husband Tanner Clark, nephew Wil and wife Sarah Shrable, 7 great nieces and nephews: Flint, Mattie, Tenley, Nora, Dalley, Jack, and Adeline, along with many cousins and friends. Her world was enriched by the bonds she formed with those closest to her, and she will be greatly missed.
