Peggy Lou Hyde, age 89, of Springfield, Missouri joined her beloved late husband, Charles, at their heavenly fishing hole on Saturday, July 8, 2023, in Republic Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on May 5, 1934, to Jess and Ethel L. (Keltner) Duvall in Republic, Missouri. Peggy graduated from Republic High School and went on to work for Credit Bureau and Credit Counselling of the Ozarks.
On June 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to her best friend and partner, Charles Howard Hyde. From this union, four children were born: Rick, Debbie, Mike, and Mark. She worked hard to care for her family and enjoyed time in nature fishing and camping with them.
Peggy would make the decision to ultimately retire from her career to become a full-time care giver to Charles when he fell ill. He would later pass away on December 13, 2000. Afterwards, she dedicated herself to caring for her grandchildren and later, great-grandchildren; affectionately becoming “Ninny” to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Bill Duvall and Jim Duvall; three sisters, Lucille Gann, Joann McConnell, and Jessie Duvall; a great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Hyde; and nephew, Jerry Gann.
Peggy is survived by her four children and their spouses; Rick and Jackie Hyde, Debbie and Tom Stephenson, Mike and Missy Hyde, and Mark and Pam Hyde; a brother and his wife, Bob and Sue Duvall; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and friends.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Greenlawn Funeral Home, North with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Missouri.
