Peggy Louise Snow, 91, Springfield passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at The Maples. She was born in Springfield, Mo. on September 22, 1932, to Lester Allen Tharp and Sylvia Louise Weck. She attended Senior High School and was of the Baptist faith. She worked many years as both a waitress and hostess. She worked at Heer’s Department Store, The Grove Steak House, Leong’s, and Gee’s East Wind. She spent 16 years as a waitress and 42 years as a Housewife. She went to work when she was 18 years old and worked until she was 82 years old. Peggy was one classy lady, who liked bright colors, unusual art, and things. She liked going shopping for items for her home and yard. She loved having her grandchildren out to play at their Polehouse. Peggy liked going to Auctions, Antique Stores, Thrift Stores, and Clothing and Furniture stores to find antiques and contemporary furniture. Peggy was a strong, beautiful, generous woman who donated to many charities. She was loved by all and will be forever missed.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Louise Tharp, Gertrude and Raymond Meese, Ma Ma Tharp, Jimmy Tharp and Bobby and Irene Tharp. She married her best friend Billy James Snow in Springfield, MO. They did everything together, They were married for 65 years, he preceded her in death on February 1, 2016. Her children son: Steven Snow and her daughter, Candace Burnett, Peggy was very proud of her grandchildren: Angela Phillips and her husband Russell, Dr. Billy Snow and his wife, Leslie Snow, and Bradley Snow, her seven great-grandchildren: Quinton Martin, Hannah Martin, Jacob Talley, Tyler Snow, Amelia Snow, Cassie Snow and Bradley Snow II, her great-great grandchildren: Patrick Martin, (Patty Cake) Noah Martin, Willow Peninger, Lucien Snow, Brayden Snow, Bradley Snow III, and her sister Debra Long.
