Rachel Perkins Was born in Stone County, near Jamesville, Mo., November 28, 1932
She went to her heavenly home on September 11, 2010, as a result of an electrical fire in the home. Rachel loved the lord and was a member of Galloway Baptist Church. Rachel cherished her church family.
Rachel worked many years for Calvert Manufacturing and retired from Sweetheart Cup.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Perkins, Mother Nadine Smith and father, Landon Food.
Rachel loved and adored her children; they were the center of her life. She leaves to mourn her passing four children and their spouses; Liz and Spook Whitener, Mike Perkins, Ed and Deb Perkins, John and Sheri Perkins. Surviving grandchildren are James and Michele Peck, Mandy and Tao Hedges, Elle Perkins, Elijah Perkins, Matt Davis, Nikki James and great grandchildren; Katie, James, and Emalie Peck, Cody Peck and Samantha Hedges, and many special people she called “My Boys”.
Visitation is planned for Thursday in Greenlawn East from 6 to 8 P.M. Services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. in Greenlawn East with H.E.” Spook Whitener and Ty Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Flood Cemetery, Highlandville, Mo.
