Ray Edward Fields, 77, of Springfield passed away April 25, 2017 in his home.
Ray was born May 1, 1939 in Springfield, Missouri to Obie and Opal Fields. He married Sue Anglen December 24, 1958 in Springfield, Missouri.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne and an infant son Troy Ray Fields.
He is survived by his wife Sue, two daughters; Vicki Essary and husband Tim and Dana Hand and husband Ray; 6 grandchildren, Timothy Ray Essary, Gavin Essary, Charity Wallace, Skylar Essary, Ethan Hand and Brittany Dampier, 7 great grandchildren, Maddie Essary, Elianna Wallace, Colt Wallace, Hesston Wallace, Case Wallace, Tristan Dampier and Autumn Dampier, two sisters, Loretta Owens and Imogene Thorpe and a host of family and friends.
He was a member of Sunshine Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri and served the Lord for many years.
Ray worked in stainless steel manufacturing at Paul Mueller Company and Precision Stainless for over forty years.
He enjoyed building and was involved in many street rod activities. He also shared an interest in Native American History.
He loved his family very much and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Ray will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with interment following at Danforth Cemetery near Strafford, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday May1, 2017 in the funeral home.
