Raymond, a native Springfieldian, was born December 13, 1924 to Bert & Gussie Eagleburger and passed on Sunday, September 28, 2014. He graduated from Senior High School (now Central) in 1942. He proudly joined the army and served in WWII, Battle of the Bulge. He owned and operated a Phillips 66 Station for 20 years and then served 20+ years as Fleet Manager at Hiland Dairy. He married Helen (Gafner) in 1946 and they had 3 precious children: Chris, Pam (Steve) Burney and Brad (Debbie); four grandchildren; Stacy (Ron) Richardson, Kent (Sharon) Eagleburger, Luke Burney, Beth (Shawn) Doles all of Springfield, and four great grandchildren: Gavin, Ethan, Mason, Ryker. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, son Chris, and two siblings Jack and Don. He is survived by his wife Helen of 68 years (to the day), sister Mary Thomas, and children Pam Burney & Brad Eagleburger and families. Raymond was a lifetime member of Dale Street United Methodist Church, now Pathways, and loved his church dearly. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a St Louis Cardinal fan. He looked forward to his Saturday night poker games with his buddies and most importantly he loved helping people. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Wednesday, October 1st, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2nd, at 10:00am with interment following at GreenlawnMemorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made to Pathways United Methodist Church, or Seasons Hospice.
