On March 31, 2017, Reva Dee Rogers stepped into the presence of her heavenly Father.
Reva was born October 2, 1929, to Clay and Faye Davis on the family farm near Logan, Kansas. She was the youngest of six children.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Rogers on November 19, 1949. They had one son, Ken.
Reva taught in a small country school, later worked as a secretary, and retired as the office manager at the Raytown Post Dispatch. She was a member of Blue Ridge Bible Church for many years until she and Kenneth moved to Springfield and joined Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She loved fashion, decorating and travel. A great cook, she was known as a consummate hostess and event planner for church, friends and family. An example of walking with God, she was known for her kind and tender heart. Most of all, Reva was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents, and five siblings; Oren Davis, Gail Davis, Mike Davis, Caryl Schukman and Noreen McClelland.
Reva is survived by her son Ken Rogers and wife Carol, two grandsons, Matthew Rogers and wife Robin and Tyler Rogers and wife Gail. She also leaves four great-grandchildren; Lorelei, Garrett, Marshall and Campbell.
The Rogers family would like to extend a special thank you to the Gardens Memory Care staff for the loving care given to Mom. Thanks also to the many friends and family members in Springfield, Kansas City, and elsewhere who sent her cards and covered her with prayer.
Visitation will be April 6, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm. Private burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Annie Armstrong Easter offering at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.
