It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rhonda June Smith, born on August 5, 1965, in KI Sawyer, MI, the daughter of Charles and Patricia (deceased) Hill. She peacefully departed this life on September 2, 2025, in Springfield, MO, leaving a legacy of love and friendship.
Rhonda was a devoted mother to her two sons, J.C. Smith and his wife Brandi and Dillon Smith and his wife Leah, daughter, Ronica Tollison (deceased), and cherished daughter of Charles Hill. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Melody Lakey and her husband Leslie, and Christy Willis and her husband Lonnie. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ariana, Joshua, Billie, Dallas, Lillian, Olivia, Riley, Josephine, Trinity, Raylen, Anthony, Charlie Bell, Elijah, and Callie, one great grandchild, Aurora, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rhonda’s warmth and kindness made her a treasured friend to many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Hill, her husband, John William Smith, her daughter Ronica Tollison.
Rhonda graduated high school and dedicated her career to quality control at ABI, where her attention to detail and dedication were valued by her coworkers. Outside of her professional life, she had a passion for gardening and crafts, particularly making beautiful jewelry. Her love for games, especially BINGO, brought her joy and allowed her to connect with friends and community.
Friends and family are invited to honor Rhonda’s memory at the upcoming services. A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM in Greenlawn Funeral Home, North. Rhonda will then be laid to rest at a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, immediately following.
In this time of mourning, we celebrate Rhonda’s life and the joy she brought to those around her. She will forever be remembered in our hearts.
