Richard “Rich” Lewis Nichols, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at his home. The youngest of 4 children, Rich was born on April 23, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio, to Lee and Marianne Nichols, who preceded him in death. He was married to Linda Moore on April 23, 1977, in Holcomb, Missouri.
Rich attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and was one of the greatest fans of the Mizzou football team.
Rich had a long and successful career in advertising/media. He was considered a creative genius. He was a funny, generous man with a big personality, who liked to tell stories. He was loved by his clients—many of whom considered him a mentor, a friend, family. He never met anyone he considered a stranger and most who knew him feel that their world is a little darker since he is gone.
He and Linda shared a life of laughter, love and kindness. They enjoyed good times at their lake house with friends and family. Rich was most proud of Linda, Chris, and Jackson. As he put it, Jackson was his most favorite person ever.
Rich is survived by his wife, Linda, son Chris Moore, grandson Jackson Moore, all of Springfield, MO, 2 brothers, David (Lenore) Nichols and Jim Nichols, 1 sister, Penny (Ken) Kievet, 12 nieces, 5 nephews, 7 great nieces, 5 great nephews, and many friends.
