Richard Shotwell, age 51, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in his home. He was born October 16, 1959, in Kansas City, KS, to Floyd and Beverly (Long) Shotwell. Richard was united in marriage to Deborah Cox on January 30, 1977 in Kansas City Kansas. Richard was employed as a mechanic for Republic Ford He attended East Grand Church of Christ. Richard loved to fish, especially with his son and grandchildren; he was an avid Hot Wheel Car collector, but Richard’s greatest love was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Shotwell; paternal grandparents Edna Mae (Nanny) and Floyd Shotwell Sr.;maternal grandparents Floyd and Mabel Long. He is survived by his wife Deborah Marie Shotwell of the home; two children Eric Shotwell and wife Lara of Springfield and Heather Vaughn and husband Alvin of Hagerstown Maryland; six grandchildren Christian, Zachary, Autumn, Malachi, Zaccheus, Josiah; one sister Kathy Compton of Springfield; one brother Tim Shotwell of Springfield; and mother Beverly Shotwell of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., , at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with officiating. Burial will be held Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
