Rick G Adkins was born on November 28, 2954 in Muncie, IN to Mervin (Bud) Adkins and Doris (Jones) Adkins. He passed away on June 27, 2024 at the age of 69 years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Katherine (Jacks) Adkins, his daughters Heather (Adkins) Minner (Jay) and Shanna (Adkins) Magruder (Aaron), sister Kim (Adkins) Graham (Dean), grandchildren Mackenzie Adkins, Aiden and Marissa Magruder along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bud and Doris Adkins, a sister Rhonda and his son Ricky Adkins Jr.

He and his dad owned a business for a few years, than went on to drive school buses and school charter buses while doing those jobs in Ottumwa, IA. He served as a volunteer firefighter. While honeymooning and vacationing in Branson, MO he fell in love with the area and in 2003 he fulfilled his dream of moving there and started working at Silver Dollar City in June of the same year and stayed until his retirement.

He loved playing baseball and softball. He also loved hunting especially with his dad, son, and father-in-law. They always had good stories to tell. Due to his health he had to give up those hobbies so his passion turned to gardening. He was very loved and will be missed.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date and a Graveside service will take place in Ottumwa, IA at a later date as well.
