Rita Rae Birt-Parkison, age 79 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 11, 2023. Rita joins her beloved husband Don “Doc” Parkison, her son Donald Jenson, and her two grandchildren Justin and Candace Jenson, as well as many other family members who have been called home before her.

Rita was not a stranger to working hard; she graduated from nursing school in Hibbing, MN and spent 40 years in the medical field.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  Rita was a one-of-a-kind soul who lived life with a zest for adventure, a love for family, and a passion for travel.  She made a point to always be present with those around her, building cherished memories.

Rita was a strong Christian and did not fear being called to her Lord and Savior.  She leaves behind her beloved brother, Jerry Birt, and her two remaining sons, David and Darryl Jenson, as well as many loving family members and treasured friends.
