Robby “Robb” Gene Montgomery SR., age 65, Springfield, MO, was born on July 31, 1956, and departed his home for his eternal home on July 30, 2022.
Robb was raised in Springfield where he attended Hillcrest High School, he didn’t make it to his graduation day, that’s why he would always foresee to influence his children and grandchildren to get their diploma and to not give up.
He married Debbie Krebs at the age of seventeen on September 21, 1973. To this union four children were born, Robby, Amy, Tammy, and Chris. They would have celebrated 49 years come this September.
Robb owned and operated his own business doing heating and air for several years.
He had a lot of fun times fishing and going to play bingo. And oh the joy he had scratching every kind of scratch off lottery ticket and playing the lottery. He loved taking Debbie and his mother-in-law Shirley to Branson to see the music shows, but he couldn’t convince himself inside to go once Shirley got called home to be with Jesus. He enjoyed and loved going out to eat, and he dearly loved making sure the grandkids were all happy when he could. He had a very big heart and made sure everyone had enough. His passion was his family, but his health held him back from being able to do a lot of things and the recent death of his son on June 8th was weighing very heavy on his heart.
Robb is survived by his wife Debbie of Springfield; children, daughters Amy and husband Mark Wollen of Republic, and Tammy and husband Andy Bishop of Strafford, son Chris of Springfield; 19 grandchildren: Alicia, Rob (wife Amanda), Mark JR, Alyssa (fiancé James), Andrew, Colton, Callie (fiancé DeMarcus) Courtney (husband Channing), Hunter (fiancé Davealyn), Hope, Brooklynn (husband Trever), Dakota, Daylen (girlfriend Alexis), Kaden, Bryson, Stella, Jack, Mia, and Ruger; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Scott Krebs; sister-in-law Cindy Bare (friend Terry); nephews John Bare (wife Anna), and Brandon Krebs; cousins and a host of numerous friends.
Robb is preceded in death by his mother Patty Montgomery, grandparents Charles and Mildred Hager, son Robby Montgomery II, and granddaughter Keila Montgomery.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm with graveside services on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10am in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Brother Dale Rose officiating.
“Our Angel in the Sky”
Each day we look to Heaven,
Each day we call your name.
Each day just feels so different,
It hasn’t been the same.
Each day we always question,
We often wonder why?
You had to go away from us,
Our Angel in the sky.
We keep you in our memories,
Since we’ve been apart,
And we’ll always have a part of you
Locked safely in our hearts.
